Intellectual property
Effective 16 September 2026. Code, servers, domains and data are yours in your own name from day one. No licence, no proprietary system only we can operate, nothing that makes leaving expensive. This page sets out what that means in practice.
What you own once a project delivers
The code written for your project, the server it runs on, the domain it sits behind, and the data it holds, all in your name. There is no ongoing licence fee to keep using what was built, and no proprietary platform underneath it that only we can operate.
What we own
The tools, internal frameworks and general-purpose code we reuse across projects remain ours, in the same way a builder keeps their own tools after handing over a finished house. What is specific to your project is not shared with anyone else's.
Third-party software
Where a project uses third-party software, such as Stripe for payments or a font service, that software remains the property of its own maker under its own licence terms. We do not claim ownership of anything we did not build.
What happens if someone else edits the code
You own it, so you are free to have anyone edit it. What changes is our commitment to fix defects in our own work at our cost for 90 days after launch (after that, under a care plan): that commitment ends from the point another party changes the code without our prior written agreement. A project not developed inside the Gigagrams Virtual Studio is not a Gigagrams project in the first place and carries none of it from us at all.
This site's own content
The design, text and code of gigagrams.com itself belongs to Gigagrams. See terms of use for how that applies to visitors of this site.
