Installs to a home screen. You never have to go elsewhere for it

Everything we build is mobile-first and installs to a home screen without an app store. Native is used only where a device feature genuinely requires it, and you never have to send someone to a separate download for it.

Where a project needs a store app, we build it: mobile apps for iOS, Android and Huawei are work we have done.

THE RANGE OF PRACTICE

What desktop-first looks like, and what mobile-first, installable looks like

Described by behaviour, not by a score.

DESKTOP-FIRST

A desktop site, shrunk to fit a phone

Built for a large screen first, with mobile treated as a compatibility pass rather than the primary experience.

APP-STORE-FIRST

A native app required for basic functionality

A download, an install and an approval process stand between a visitor and using the product at all.

MOBILE-FIRST, INSTALLABLE

Designed for the phone, installs without an app store

The primary experience is mobile by default, and a visitor can add it to their home screen directly from the browser.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Questions about mobile development

The ones that come up before anyone signs anything.

A visitor can add the site to their phone's home screen directly from the browser, and it opens full-screen like an app from that point on. No app store listing, no approval process, no separate download step before someone can use it.

For most functionality, yes. Native is used only where a device feature genuinely requires it: certain background processing, deep hardware integration, or a capability the browser simply does not expose. Everything else runs as an installable, mobile-first build by default.

Responsive means a desktop design that also works on mobile. Mobile-first means the phone experience is designed first, since it is where most visitors actually are, and the larger screen is the adaptation, not the other way round.

Scoped during the technical audit, based on which specific device features the project actually requires, rather than assumed from the start. Most projects do not need it.
