Acceptable use policy

Effective 16 September 2026. What we decline to build, host or maintain, stated in advance rather than discovered partway through a project. This is the formal version of the practice standard's sixth rule.

What we do not build or host

Gambling, lottery, tobacco, alcohol, pyramid schemes, counterfeit goods, pornography, and elective cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery after injury is the one stated exception to the last category.

Intimate apparel and adult products are also declined.

Banks, insurers and financial institutions

We do not build day-to-day operational systems or lead-generation systems for banks, insurers or other financial institutions. Data sharing and cybersecurity cooperation with these organisations is possible and is scoped separately.

Zero tolerance

Money laundering, misleading products or services, and fake digital goods. If any of these is discovered during a project, work stops immediately, regardless of how far along the project is.

Use of systems we build

A system we build or host may not be used for anything on this list once it is live, in the same way it would not have been accepted as a project in the first place. If we become aware a live system is being used this way, the same zero-tolerance response applies.

How this is enforced

By us, on discovery, rather than through automated monitoring of client systems, since we do not monitor the content of systems we host beyond uptime and security. Reports of misuse can be sent to hello@gigagrams.com.
